What It Means to Be a Member

Membership is available for individuals and families who want to take part in the club’s activities, use the shop, and build skills in lapidary and related arts.

What Membership Includes

  • Access to the club shop and equipment (Monday–Friday evenings)
  • Thursday family night with priority access for junior members
  • Hands-on guidance for new members creating their first cabochon
  • Advanced classes in cabochon techniques as skills develop
  • Silversmithing classes to create custom jewelry settings
  • Faceting opportunities (requires introductory class)
  • Additional classes, such as beading and wire wrapping
  • Seasonal projects for junior members, including carving and show displays

Field Trips & Experiences

Each summer, you can join field trips ranging from single-day outings to multi-day rockhounding trips across Washington, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Oregon. These trips are led by experienced members who know the locations and materials, offering both learning and hands-on collecting opportunities.

A Volunteer-Driven Community

As a member, you have the opportunity to contribute to the club’s operations. The club is entirely volunteer-run, with members helping to open the shop, teach classes, maintain equipment, and organize events. Volunteers are essential to keeping the club active and thriving.
